Meaghan

Physiotherapist Resident

**Paedatric Physiotherapy 0-18 years**

Meaghan completed her Masters of Physiotherapy program at McMaster University (2024) and graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a degree in Human Kinetics in 2022. Her love for physiotherapy stemmed from being an athlete her whole life, playing volleyball throughout high school and running varsity track and field during her undergraduate degree. The opportunity to inspire the next generation of athletes to give back to their community and help those around them has always been a driver in her pursuing her career in physiotherapy.

As no stranger to the clinic, Meaghan was a former student at BSSC where she solidified her interest in working with sports injuries in specific. Following her first placement she completed 2 placements in pediatric settings. Throughout her time at Hamilton Kids Physio and McMaster Children’s Hospital, Meaghan gained extensive experience working with a wide variety of conditions. Meaghan treats children aged 0-18 years, with conditions such as sport injuries, developmental delays, neurological conditions, torticollis, and musculoskeletal concerns such as in/out-toeing.

Other experiences that Meaghan has related to her love for pediatrics include coaching both volleyball and track, working at McMaster Sport Fitness School primarily in the 1:1 program for children with exceptionalities, being a counsellor at YMCA Camp Wanakita, and running a safe swim program through Autism Nova Scotia. Currently, Meaghan is the head coach of a 15U team at the Mountain Volleyball Club out of Hamilton, where she aims to inspire the next generation to be strong players, leaders, and women both on and off the court.
Meaghan’s treatment approaches include play-based therapy, manual therapy, and exercise prescription. Meaghan believes that creativity and fun will lend towards children engaging in their treatment sessions and loving physiotherapy. The foundation of her treatments will come in the form of education to children and their families to understand the ‘why’ behind their treatments.

When not in clinic, Meaghan can be found in the gym coaching, outside playing tennis or golf, reading by lake, or spending time at the gym (F45 Hamilton)! She is also NCCP Certified for volleyball and coaching athletes with disabilities.
